– Jakob Steen Olsen, Berlingske 2025

About Me.

I am a stage director with fifteen years of experience in classics, new plays and music performance. My work focuses on family relationships, female experience and social taboos. In the recent years I have made my mark with critically acclaimed works by Henrik Ibsen and William Shakespeare.

My performances are defined by strong psychological acting, an expressive aesthetic and a clear connection to contemporary society.

As an artistic director I have been a leading figure in the arts in Denmark for several years, with a knack for engaging younger audiences, ensuring economic growth and elevating the public conversation about the performing arts.

In addition to my work as a stage director, I am an author and write novels based on personal experiences – both in life and in theatre.
